Detailed itinerary.
Day 1: Arrival in Arusha.
On the first day of the safari, once you arrive in Arusha, the safari capital of Tanzania. You will be welcomed by your safari driver from African Vacation Safaris who will welcome you for the safari and then transfers you to your hotel for resting. Later in the day you will be briefed about the safari for each day. Arusha is a peaceful town surrounded by hills and coffee farms, which crates a beautiful introduction to your adventure. Later you will enjoy dinner and prepare for the early start the next morning.
Day 2: Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park.
On the second day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy breakfast. After breakfast, you will check out from your lodge and then you begin driving to Lake Manyara National Park, this a small but stunning park famous for its tree climbing lions, thousands of flamingos, and large elephant families. The drive is scenic, passing through villages, farms, rolling hills. Once inside the park, you begin your first game drive. You may see buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, hippos, monkeys and beautiful birds. The lake itself shines brightly, especially when the sun reflects on the water. You will later enjoy lunch and then in the afternoon, you continue exploring the park before heading to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Lake Manyara to Serengeti National Park.
On the third of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy breakfast. After breakfast, you will check out from your lodge and meet your safari guide and then get ready Serengeti National Park which is one of the most famous wildlife destinations in the world. The drive takes you through the Ngorongoro highlands, offering beautiful views before descending into the vast Serengeti plains. When you enter Serengeti, you start a long and rewarding game drive. Expect to see lions, cheetahs, elephants, hyenas, zebras and depending on the season, the wildebeest migration herds stretching across the plains, with lunch. Later after along day you will be transferred to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 4: Full day in Serengeti National Park.
On the fourth day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy breakfast. This whole day is dedicated to exploring Serengeti. After breakfast, you will go for a full-day game drive, allowing plenty of time to see predators such as lions and leopards as well as large herbivores like elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, wildebeests, and leopards. You may also visit the hippo pools and then enjoy a picnic lunch under an acacia tree while watching move across the plains. Serengeti’s peaceful nature and amazing wildlife make this day one of the highlights of the safari. Later transfer to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 5: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
On the fifth day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and take breakfast. After breakfast you will check out from your lodge and then meet your safari guide and then enjoy your final short game drive in Serengeti as you proceed the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The views change from wide plains to green highlands. You arrive at our lodge located on the crater rim where you can see the crater floor below an unforgettable sight. Enjoy dinner and relax as you prepare for the crater tour the next morning.
Day 6: Ngorongoro crater tour and return to Arusha.
On the final day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy breakfast. After breakfast, you will check out from your lodge and then descend into Ngorongoro crater, one of the best wildlife areas in Africa. Animals here are easy to spot because the crater is enclosed like a natural wildlife sanctuary. You may see lions, elephants, zebras, wildebeests, hippos, and possibly the rare black rhino. After the beautiful morning game drive, you will have a picnic lunch, and you drive back to Arusha marking the end of your safari.
