Day 1: Arusha to Serengeti National Park.
On the first day of the safari, your adventure begins with an early pick up in Arusha by your professional safari guide from African Vacation Safaris, he will welcome you and then brief you about the safari. After the briefing you will start on your journey that takes you towards the vast, plains of Serengeti, often through the scenic route that passes through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
This is a long but then rewarding drive, with the landscape changing dramatically from the green highlands to the wide-open ‘’endless plains’’ of Serengeti. Along the way, you will enjoy an enroute game drive and packed lunch, during the game drive you will have your first wildlife as soon as you enter the park gates. Serengeti is famous for its massive herds of the grazers like wildebeests, zebras and its exceptional density of the predators. You will head to the central seronera area, the heart of the park, known for the year-round animal sightings. You will check in into your camp or lodge in the late afternoon, for relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 2: Full day Game drives in Serengeti.
On the second day of the safari you will have the full day dedicated to explore Serengeti, arguably the world’s most impressive wildlife sanctuary. You will start with an early morning game drive to catch the predators’ lions, leopards, cheetahs at their most active before the heat sets in. Your expert driver guide, trained in tracking, looking out the best wildlife encounters. You will spend the entire day exploring the central plains, where you are likely to see large families of the elephants, giraffes, buffaloes and then a variety of the antelope.
If the Great Migration is in the area (seasonal) your guide will consider taking you to the best viewing locations. you will take a breakfast for the picnic lunch in the safe, scenic spot, allowing you to immerse yourself fully in the immense of the park before continuing the game drive in the afternoon. Later you will be transferred to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 3: Serengeti to Ngorongoro crater rim.
On the third day of the safari, after your final exhilarating morning game drive in Serengeti, you will enjoy a last breakfast before driving toward Ngorongoro Conservation Area. As you exist the park, you may stop at the Olduvai Gorge (optional) an important archaeological site known as the ‘’Cradle of Mankind.’’ To learn about early human history. The highlight of the afternoon is reaching the top of the Ngorongoro crater rim. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. The view from the rim is truly breathtaking, with the entire ecosystem spread out below you. You will check into your accommodation located near the rim, ready for an early start the following day and enjoy dinner with a spectacular view of the highlands.
Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater tour and Departure.
On the final day of the safari, you will wake up early in the morning and then enjoy breakfast, after you will descent into the Ngorongoro Crater. This contained natural enclosure is a haven for the wildlife, with one of the highest concentrations of the animals in Africa. You will spend a thrilling half day (typically 5 to 6 hours) exploring the crater floor, which offers an excellent chance to spot the Big five in a short period, including the elusive Black rhino.
You will also encounter large herds of the wildebeests, zebras, and buffaloes as well as lion prises and a variety of the birdlife around the soda lake. After the final picnic lunch near the hippo pool, you will ascend the crater wall and begin the drive back to Arusha.
