Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park.
On the first day of the safari, your safari guide from African Vacation Safaris will pick you up from your hotel or from the airport and welcome you then brief you about the safari. After the briefing you will start your journey towards Tarangire national park, which is famous for its large herds of elephants and tall baobab trees. When you enter the park, you will immediately see impressive wildlife like zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, monkeys moving through the grasslands and woodlands.
Tarangire is also an excellent place for birdwatching, with many colorful bird species flying around the river and trees. You enjoy a long game drive, moving from one area to another while your guide explains the behavior of the animals you see. You will enjoy your lunch inside the park as a picnic, and you continue with game viewing in the afternoon. Later you drive to your lodge or tented camp, where you enjoy dinner and a peaceful night.
Day 2: Tarangire to Serengeti national park.
On the second day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy your breakfast. After breakfast, check out from your lodge and meet your safari guide and then depart Tarangire and begin your journey towards the world-famous Serengeti national park. The drive is long but very beautiful, passing through Maasai villages, the Great Rift Valley and the highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
As you approach Serengeti, you will view the thrilling landscapes into wide plains where animals roam freely. You will enter the park with a game drive, and you will likely to see wildebeests, zebras, lions and gazelles right away. Depending on the season, the migration herds may also be close by, filling the plains with thousands of moving animals.
You enjoy a late afternoon game drive, watching the sunset behind the hill as the animals gather to rest. Later you will be transferred to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Full day in Serengeti National Park.
On the third day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy breakfast. Today is one of the highlights of your Tanzania safari, you will head out for a full day game drive in Serengeti. This park is known for its rich wildlife and large predator population. It is one of the best places in Africa to see lions, cheetahs, and leopards.
Your guide takes you to the most active wildlife area, following the movement of the animals. If you are traveling during the migration season, you will spend time searching for the wildebeest herds as they move in the huge groups across the plains. You will later stop for the picnic lunch under the shade tree and continue exploring until later afternoon. After along day of adventure, you return to your camp or lodge for dinner and a relaxing evening by the fire.
Day 4: Serengeti to Arusha.
Your final day begins with waking up early in the morning for delicious breakfast. After breakfast, check out from your lodge and then meet your safari guide and go for the morning game drive as you leave Serengeti. Early morning are great spotting predators that are still active before the sun becomes strong.
You may see hyenas, lions on rocks, or elephants feeding in the cool morning air. After leaving the park, you will drive back through the Ngorongoro Highlands and continue to Arusha, arriving in the later afternoon. Your safari here, with drop-off at your hotel or the airport for your onward journey.
